5. Necessity of Cooperative Policy
The Interim Constitution of Nepal, 2063 has given great importance to the role of cooperative sector in adopting the policy of economic development. The cooperative sector has been accepted by the state as one of the three pillars of national development. For the development, expansion and promotion of cooperatives in the country, the organizational structure from the initial level to the national level has been built. The attraction of doing business through cooperative system is increasing in fields like agriculture, finance, health, education, transportation, communication, electricity, housing, tourism, insurance. The attraction of informal groups of target communities in rural areas towards cooperatives can be considered as an achievement of the cooperative sector. There is also a good chance that the cooperation of national and international bodies will be mobilized to contribute to the economic and social development of the country through cooperatives. To contribute to the social and economic development of the country by achieving achievements such as social integration, poverty reduction, creation of productive employment, dignified and positive labor relations, environmental protection, creation of equitable and inclusive society, development of entrepreneurship, creation of a clean and competitive business environment, increase in production. For the practical use of cooperatives in industrial business, the necessity of national cooperative policy has been felt. In this background, this National Cooperative Policy, 2069 has been formulated for the development of Nepal's cooperative sector.
